Julia Turpin
PANDA Acting Manager
Julia is in post as PANDA Acting Manager two and a half days a week while PANDA Director Liz O'Neill is on secondment as Acting Executive Producer at Contact.
Julia says:
Acting as Manager for PANDA for three months is a great opportunity for me to get know more about the range of artists, companies and the performing arts industry in the North West. Although I’ve been working in the performing arts for over twenty years in Greater Manchester, most of my recent work has involved international collaborations with young theatre makers across the world (as Contacting the World’s Director). Before working for Contact, I worked as Events Officer for Oldham Council, a Producer for Manchester Festival and a Bar Manager at Cornerhouse. I have also worked with Quarantine, one of PANDA’s first incubated companies on its productions of White Trash, Grace and Old People, Children and Animals.
I’ve been really impressed so far with the huge resource PANDA offers to people wanting to develop careers in the Performing Arts and the generosity of the performing arts network in Manchester. My advice to PANDA members is to make the most of its unique service and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the next few months.
