Rachel Wingate

Hello, my name's Rachel and I'm a Theatre Designer. I graduated in July, equipped with the skills needed to design and create sets and costume. My degree gave me a strong understanding of visual language as well as a good eye for design, and what is aesthetically pleasing. I love all genres of theatre, and am eager to work within this medium as its exciting and constantly evolving. My approach to design varies on the type of production I am involved with, but personally feel that my work is character based and wants to enhance the production with a strong visual statement contributing to the message of the piece, so is often uncluttered. I have worked within various roles, including designer, design assistant, model maker, scenic artist, puppet maker and manipulator, and have developed good communicative skills as well as an understanding of working within a budget and team. I just want to meet like minded people and create theatre, putting the skills I have into good use.
