Jemma Katy Houghton

I am a "thinking performer" based in Manchester. I am trained in Theatre, Screen and Radio. I wish to pursue all three of these disciplines throughout my career. The reason for this being, that I believe in the power of all of these beautiful, yet very different art forms.

I am specialising in Aerial Theatre, Absurd Theatre, Devised Performance, Invisible Theatre, Naturalism, Political Theatre, Post Modernism, Radio Acting, Screen and Voice in my Performing Arts B.A. (Hons) Degree at the University of Salford.

I am extremely passionate about the Arts and I believe in Performance and all of its possibilities to be mesmerising and beautiful, devastating and traumatising, soul-inspiring and soul-destroying and yet continually motivating social and personal change within us all. I believe Performance can lift an audience to unprecedented heights of euphoria, so that they feel brighter, happier, energised and full of life and potential; yet it can also crush an audience and all that they ever believed to be true, and all in a single moment.

I work exceptionally hard in every project I undertake. I love to create, perform in and watch every type of performance. I am constantly discovering new genres, practitioners and loving every single minute of it.

I am 5ft 8", have a tall, slim build, dark hair and hazel eyes! I am passionate, unique, friendly and hard-working.
