Horse + Bamboo Theatre Company

Horse + Bamboo is one of Europe’s leading visual theatre companies and is unique in the UK. Our mission is to create and tour complex, beautiful, contemporary and informed theatre that doesn’t require verbal explanation, in which music and story-telling are central and where the purpose of telling stories is what they reveal.

We tour our work within the UK and internationally but we also have a strong commitment to our local community in Pennine Lancashire, and our space, the Boo, is a venue and creative space for other artists, as well as a centre for visual theatre and a workshop where we create our own productions.

Mentoring artists and arts organisations in visual theatre is a strong part of our mission.
