The North West Artists Development Programme aims to assist artists working and living in the region to take full advantage of national and international networking and development opportunities afforded by Decibel Performing Arts Showcase. The programme will offer:

  • A programme of free Spotlight On events leading up to and during Decibel.

  • Five bursaries for selected artists to attend Decibel as delegates, plus a package of support to help them make the most of the opportunity.

North West Artists Development Programme: Spotlight On

PANDA will also host a number of Spotlight On events themed to suit the upcoming Decibel Performing Arts Showcase:

  • Spotlight On Presenting Yourself will offer practical suggestions to take full advantage of promoting oneself at informal and social events.

  • Spotlight On Making the Most of Showcases and Festivals will include a panel of previous regional participants of Decibel and other showcase events who can give personal testimonies of personal successes and pitfalls from such events.

  • Spotlight On the North West will be open to artists and programmers from around the country and will feature a panel of representatives of artists, venues, and support organisations in the region who can testify to the quality of work being made in the North West.

As a special offer, all three of these Spotlight On events will be free to both members and the general public.

Dates and further details will be announced on the PANDA website shortly. For more information please contact Fergus Evans, Senior Producer, on 0161 274 0620 or email fergus@panda-arts.org.uk.

North West Artists Development Programme: Bursaries

In addition to the programme of Spotlight On events, PANDA will also offer five bursaries for artists in the region who are not presenting work at Decibel, but would benefit from the exposure and networking opportunities. These will be complimented by a series of one-to-one meetings with the PANDA Director, aimed at giving bespoke support to the five artists selected.

The five artists will also be included in an advocacy booklet for artists in the North West which will be made available to all of the Decibel delegates. Each artist will have the opportunity to participate in a photo shoot at Contact. These photos will not only be used in the booklet; they will be given to each of the artists as high quality publicity images to use in the future.
