Dates and Venue Announced for Spotlight On 2009
We are pleased to announce the dates and venue for the 2009 series of Spotlight On events.
Each event will provide a 'spotlight on' one specific area or topical issue relevant to the performing arts. The high quality stand-alone sessions will be delivered by a panel of experienced guest speakers who will offer a concise practical and informative introduction to the topic. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and debate plus further signposting to allow participants to pursue the issues raised in the way which suits them best.
Where and when are they happening?
The Spotlight On events will take place quarterly at our partner venue, Contact.
The dates for Spotlight On programme for 2009 are:
- Tuesday 31st March 2009
- Tuesday 30th June 2009
- Tuesday 29th September 2009
- Tuesday 15th December 2009 (to be confirmed)
Additional Spotlight On events may also be programmed in and around these four dates elsewhere in the North West region or in response to any major topical issues arising in the sector.
How will they work?
Each Spotlight On event will be structured as follows:
- 6.30pm Registration, refreshments and informal networking
Participants arrive, sign in and get to know each other over a cuppa and biscuit. PANDA staff are on hand to make introductions on request.
- 7.00pm Introductions and presentations
The chair introduces our guest speakers who say a little about themselves, their work and how they got to where they are today. The panel then to discuss the topic of the event and participants have chance to ask questions.
- 8.00pm Discussion, summary and evaluations
After the presentations there is chance for everyone to contribute in a discussion about the topic of the event. The chair wrap ups the discussion with a summary of everything we covered and participants complete and return their evaluation forms.
- 8.30pm Optional networking session
Everyone is invited to stay after the discussion to attend an hour-long networking event. This may include a participatory workshop, an 'open space' style discussion or networking games. Whatever the format, you can guarantee it will be welcoming and relaxed with plenty of opportunity to chat to all the new contacts you’ve made.

Topics for each Spotlight On will be announced a few weeks before they take place. This allows us flexibility to select topics that are relevant to current issues in the performing arts sector.
