February Creative Conversation with Pilot Theatre
The first PANDA Creative Conversations event of 2009 takes place on Tuesday 3rd February 2009 at greenroom, our partners in the Creative Conversations series.
PANDA members with at least two years professional experience are invited to apply to join the pool of participants for the Creative Conversations series. Once selected pool participants are then eligible to attend the monthly events, starting with:

Artists have always had had a role in helping society understand, interpret, communicate and investigate subjects important throughout time. In 2009 we have the opportunity to harness the power of the imagination to help address challenges faced through climate change. In February’s Creative Conversation we will be highlighting two examples of creative approaches that attempt to address our environmental impact by working in different ways...
Blogs, Podcasts and Wikis: Weapons of Mass Collaboration
Marcus Romer, Artistic Director from Pilot Theatre gives a presentation on current opportunities for working creatively through the web.
Pilot Theatre is the award winning National Touring Theatre Company from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, currently in residence at York Theatre Royal.
Case Study: Voices of Dissent
Ben Mellor, writer of Voices of Dissent.
Ben Mellor, Manchester-based, spoken word artist will give us an overview of his innovative performance Voices of Dissent powered entirely by an audience member cycling.
We will also hopefully give you information hot off the presses from Tipping Point (a network-based organisation aiming to be a year round ‘connector’ of the arts and climate science worlds whilst offering critical and strategic points of engagement through one off events, conferences and public debates www.tippingpoint.org.uk) about a new set of commissions for artists wishing to engage with climate change issues.

Selected practitioners accepted into the pool are be invited to attend each Creative Conversations event. There is a fee of £8 per session which contributes to the cost of refreshments and bringing in the VIP speakers.
