M-Cast Project: Audio Podcasts for the Performing Arts Sector

Over the past six months PANDA have taken part in a pilot project to produce audio podcasts for the performing arts sector, called M-Cast.

Sarah Leech from M-Cast has the latest news about the project and how you can get involved:

Just wanted to up-date you all on the M-Cast project that has been delivered by Radio Regen and the Creative Industries Development Service (CIDS) on behalf of the NWDA.

We are a pilot project designed to produce collective audio podcasts for professional sectors in Manchester. And over the last 6 months we have trained and supported contributors from the Performing Arts sector to do just that. Our M-casters have discussed key issues and hot topics affecting your sector and now we want your feedback on the audio they have produced.

All you need to do is visit www.m-cast.co.uk and click on the Performing Arts Icon. Here you can listen to a taster of the audio on offer. If you like what you hear and want to listen to more you can sign yourself up for a free M-cast account where you will have access to all the Performing Arts M-casts. It's a free specialist need-to-know channel that only covers your profession in your city - so what are you waiting for.

And don't forget to tell us what you thought of it all? Was it interesting, useful a real insight in the sector? Please feel free to comment on the forum and feedback to us on what you've heard. The project is coming to an end now so the more feedback we get the better.

Enjoy listening!

So please do go and check it out. Listen carefully and you might even hear a familiar PANDA voice in there!

So You Want To Be...

Why not check out PANDA's own audio podcasts too, created as part of the So You Want To Be... resource.

So You Want To Be... is an online resource for PANDA members aimed at de-mystifying the process of beginning an arts career.

Fact sheets feature case studies of practitioners who have been there and done it and advice on how to take the first steps or to progress your career. The fact sheets are accompanied by audio podcasts of interviews with the practitioners for you to download.

Go and have a look, a listen and let us know what you think. Feedback is always welcome, contact Rachel Morton with your comments, queries or ideas on 0161 274 0626 or email rachel@panda-arts.org.uk.
