October Creative Conversation on Portfolio Careers in Theatre
The next PANDA Creative Conversation takes place on Tuesday 6th October 2009 at greenroom, our partners in the Creative Conversations series.
PANDA members with at least two years professional experience are invited to apply to join the pool of participants for Creative Conversations. Once selected, pool participants are then eligible to attend the monthly events, including our the next Creative Conversation:
Portfolio Careers in Theatre
With special guest speaker Martine Dunn, a voiceover artist and drama and musical theatre teacher and examiner.
Martine trained and worked as an actor, studying Radio Drama at RADA before finding work in theatre, TV and audio sectors. She can be found on TV, heard in Radio 4 Woman’s Hour drama serials, on educational and corporate CD-Rom, in internet drama and narration, commercials and even in the Co-op, telling many of us to BOGOF in-store!
To date she has written 4 one-woman stage shows, recorded and produced a classic literature audio resource for the AQA English Literature syllabus and is currently working on a series of picture with audiobooks.
Her love of audio narration, comedy and the relationship between the spoken and written word are key influences in her storytelling and writing.
Martine’s strong, dramatic voice, repertoire of comedy and in-animate voices and native RP are used for an increasing range of character and straight narrations.

- The importance of the voice.
- Working in voiceover - tips and advice for actors.
- Making a living as a professional performer by diversifying your career whilst still retaining your creative integrity.

Selected practitioners accepted into the pool are be invited to attend each Creative Conversation. There is a fee of £8 per session which contributes to the cost of refreshments and bringing in the VIP speakers.

Creative Conversations are intimate forums for debate, discussion and informal networking for more established performing arts practitioners.
Creative Conversations take place on the first Tuesday of every month at greenroom.
