This event is also open to non-members at a cost of £5, though we’re sure that by the end of the evening they will want to join PANDA too!

And next we have two Spotlight On… Tour Booking events on the same day, the afternoon session for new and emerging companies and the evening session aimed at more experienced tour bookers.

Spotlight On… An Introduction to Tour Booking

Date: Wednesday 23rd April 2008, 2.00pm – 4.00pm.
Venue: Adelphi House, The Crescent, Salford, M3 6EM
(See map).
Cost: Free to PANDA members / £5 for non-members.

Getting your work shown as a new company is essential. But how do you go about finding and approaching venues to programme your work? This session will examine tried and tested ways of getting venues interested in your production and will cover some of the practical issues that arise when working with venues such as contracts, insurance and music.

Spotlight On… An Introduction to Tour Booking will be led by Sinead MacManus, a creative business consultant who has worked for a wide range of arts organisations including Mimbre, Frantic Assembly, Tall Stories and movingeast. Sinead is currently CPD Leader at University of Greenwich and a freelance arts consultant, producer and trainer working in the theatre, dance and street arts/circus sectors.

Venue: Adelphi House, The Crescent, Salford, M3 6EM

For artists and companies with some experience of working with venues, this session will delve deeper into how to build productive relationships with venues. Focussing on both UK and international touring, participants will come away with a strategy for developing their touring capacity.

Spotlight On… Planning the Perfect Tour will also be led by Sinead MacManus (biog above).
