So you want to be…

Sometimes the most daunting part of a project is taking the first step. Even if you have the talent and the passion, it's often hard to know just how to get started in the arts. That’s why PANDA is launching 'So you want to be…' - a resource aimed at de-mystifying the process of beginning an arts career. Working with established arts practitioners and professionals, 'So you want to be...' seeks to use real life case studies to illustrate difficulties you might expect and possible ways of overcoming them, as well as keying you in to resources to help you along.
We’ll be interviewing working professionals in all of these fields and presenting the information in a number of ways, including fact sheets and downloadable audio recordings. And in order to make this process as helpful to our members as possible, we’re asking for you input - what kind of questions do you have? So far, we’ll be asking questions such as:
- What does this role entail/ mean to you?
- How did you get into this field?
- Have you faced any hurdles and how did you overcome them?
- Describe a typical day or a particular incident that you feel best conveys the role.
But we really want to make this programme as informative as possible, and tailored to your concerns and questions. If you have any specific questions for any of these roles, please send them to fergus@panda-arts.org.uk with the subject 'So You Want to Be…' and we’ll include them in our interviews.
Deadline for questions for the first round of interviews will be 7/11/07.
