Darren Pritchard, Company Fierce, a PANDA Incubated Company 02/03Company Fierce are a company that came through the Contact @ Home Residency programme for emerging artists. Darren Pritchard, Artistic Director of Company Fierce, has established himself as one of the leading dance teachers, performers and choreographers in Manchester. Company Fierce exists to promote the whole spectrum of black dance and to show the sophistication and diversity offered in the black dance genres on a professional level.

Darren Pritchard studied at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, when he was asked to join Random Dance Company for their Eastern European tour. He has also danced for African Cultural Exchange, Robert Hylton's dance and worked with Khemtech Dance. His choreography credits include 'How to Free Your Inner Bitch' with Cheryl Martin & Clive Hunt for Nitrobeat, 'And The Coloured Girl Sings' for Sonia Hughes and for African Cultural Exchange in their Wembley Arena Extravaganza. He has been commissioned by NWAB, trained in New York at the Alvin Ailey Summer School and was resident artist, under the mentorship of Edward Lynch (RJC) at Contact Theatre in 2002.

Company Fierce are rapidly growing; now a Company Ltd by Guarantee, working on a 5 Year Plan, and looking at building international links. Company Fierce have strategically categorised a balanced triangle of commercial, training and 'high art' work.

Commercial choreography and supply of dancers to BBC Top of the Pops, Granada, CDUK and others including Inaya Day, music videos for Freeloaders, Jupiter Ace, etc.

Company Fierce Academy – is a new charitable company. Helping kids in the local community, providing them with preparation and opportunities to train as dancers, including ballet, street dance, classical, Asian and jazz. In the last 2 years Academy students gained 5 scholarships into private dance schools around Britain.

The company continue to work professionally, including performing in two shows with Quarantine, the first being Grace. The second was Susan & Darren which was co-produced by Company Fierce Dance Theatre and Quarantine. Along with recent work with Walk the Plank and Xtrax on Gulliver’s Boom Box.
