Desperate Measures was the inaugural performance from the Manchester Shakespeare Company, which rehearses and performs in Three Minute Theatre. The play was a modern re-imagining of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure set in a dystopian future under the threat of totalitarianism. Three Minute Theatre aims to promote new writing and performance to a wide audience. The theatre works on a unique, entirely recycled basis: props, seating even glasses and gifts are salvaged and hand crafted to cater to the venue.
